Cassin’s Kingbird
Plumage/Description: Gray head, great throat, olive-green back, lemon yellow belly, and under-tail coverts.
Cedar Waxwing
Plumage/Description: A striking bird not easily confused with any other species that occurs in this area.
Chipping Sparrow
Plumage/Description: Breeding plumage is more striking.
Cliff Swallow
Plumage/Description: In flight the one characteristic that makes identifying this species fairly easy is the pale Rufous/buffy color on the rump.
Common Nighthawk
Plumage/Description: Rarely observed at rest, most easily observed in flight.
Common Poorwill
Plumage/Description: Rarely observed at rest, most easily observed in flight.
Common Raven
Plumage/Description: A large (bigger than a Red-tailed Hawk), stocky, all black bird with a large, powerful beak.
Common Yellowthroat
Plumage/Description: Male plumage includes a black mask across the face with a brilliant yellow throat, breast and belly.
Cooper’s Hawk
Plumage/Description: Adult male and female plumage similar, although females are substantially larger than males.
